Meet the Larson Zoo!

DOB: August 29, 1999

Weight: 65 lbs

Hobbies: Jumping on people, playing, eating.

Karma is our smart but spastic little golden retriever. If you've ever met her, you know what we mean (and if you've had the pleasure of Karma letting herself into the bathroom while you're in there, you really know what we mean)!

In Memory Jedi
This is one of our favorite pictures of Jedi, and captures her perfectly. She was goofy, sweet, happy, and always eager to please.
Info: We brought Jedi home from the La Plata County Humane Society on January 17th, 2001.

Hobbies: Being the amazing canine teddy bear, chomping on bones, sleeping.

Sadly, we lost sweet Jedi in May of 2002. She had been having severe, worsening seizures for a few months, and just never responded to treatment the way we had hoped she would. On May 9th, we had to say our goodbyes.  We still miss her a bunch, but take some comfort from the fact that she was happy right up 'til the end. She had great vet care, and we all loved her lots. We just wish we would have had more time with her. She was a special doggy, and we were so lucky to have her.

Tiger Lily

DOB: June 26, 2001

Weight: 95 lbs

Lily is a fawn brindle English Mastiff who came to us in September, 2001. Even though she's quite a bit larger than Karma, and has a head the size of a watermelon, she's fairly "petite" for the breed. She's really quite gentle, a 100 lb. lap dog! Her droopy lips make for a slimey drooling mess, but we wouldn't trade her for the world.

Info: About 6 years old, Chevas is our mountain-barn-cat turned City Kitty.

Chevas is our big, super friendly, constantly purring, orange tabby. Considering he was exclusively an outdoor kitty in rural Colorado, he has adjusted remarkably well to city life. The doggies and Luke all love him (and the feeling is mutual). He did give us a big scare when we moved to Darien... He decided that he wasn't fond of the new house, and took off. 5.5 weeks later, we got a call that some nice folks about 3 miles north of here had found him. He's home safe & sound now after his grand adventure!

Spike 1984-2003

Favorite Fancy Feast: Sliced Beef Feast

Spike passed away in January 2003. She got sick suddenly and despite treatment didn't get any better. We buried her in the backyard at Paul's folks. Those of you who knew her can imagine how quiet our house has been since she's gone! She was always quite a character and we miss her a lot.
